  2.                  ***  Hypermedia presentation  ***
  3.                    "HM-Card introduces HM-Card"
  4.  
  5. HM-Card is a comprehensive software tool running on PCs under MS-
  6. Windows for developing interactive multimedia courseware. It brings 
  7. together text, graphics, animation, sound, images and answer-judging 
  8. procedures in order to create computer-based training courses. It should 
  9. be especially noted that the creation of all components of courseware is 
  10. a programming-free process. Even quite sophisticated animation and 
  11. answer-judging algorithms can be defined by means of a special non-
  12. procedural model (i.e., can be built without actual programming).
  13.  
  14. HM-Card provides authors of a particular courseware with quite 
  15. powerful facilities to incorporate materials already existing in computer-
  16. readable form (i.e., texts, graphics, etc.) into courseware being 
  17. developed, and uses new tutorial techniques such as animation, answer-
  18. judging and computer-supported collaborative work in order to deliver 
  19. these materials in a completely new form. Authoring in HM-Card is 
  20. easily mastered, allowing training professionals at every level of 
  21. computer knowledge to create sophisticated courseware. 
  22.  HM-CARD is a multipurpose hypermedia authoring system.  The hypermedia
  23. presentations created with HM-CARD can be integrated into other hypermedia
  24. systems or browsed separately using the viewer.  The editing and linking
  25. facilities allow the creation of standard hypermedia documents, links and
  26. tours of various complexity.

  29.   HM-CARD requires MS-Windows version 3.1, it works also
  30. with Windows-NT and Windows for Workgroups.

  32.   The contents of the directory "pub\hmcard", available via anonymous
  33. ftp from "iicm.tu-graz.ac.at", include a viewer for HM-Card databases,
  34. documentation, authoring components and three demonstration presentations.

  36. It is a freeware.

  38. The presentation "Hi, I am HM-Card" demonstrates main features
  39. of the system and you can decide whether the system fits your demands.

  41. In order to install the presentation, please unzip the file "hi_demo.zip" into
  42.  a newly created directory.
  43.  
  44.  In order to view the presentation please activate the module "demo.exe" 
  45. (or launch the HM-Card viewer with the following parameters: 
  46.              hm_exec.exe -h-ademo).

  48.  The demo can be viewed in an automatic  mode by launching the HM-Card viewer
  49.    with the following parameter:
  50.              hm_exec.exe -h-mtour

  53. This presentation can be freely copied and distributed. It is also available
  54.  from the anonymous FTP server "iicm.tu-graz.ac.at" in directory "pub\hmcard".
